Introduction Of Magnet Material

Feb 14, 2023

Many friends are more concerned about the material of the magnet, such as what is the material of the magnet? What is the material of the high-strength magnet? What magnet material is the most resistant to high temperature? The magnet material in the stator? And motor magnet material and so on. Today, Hongyu Magnetics will make a special introduction.

1. Classification of magnet materials
NdFeB(Neodymium): the magnetic material with the strongest magnetic force, high cost performance, and widely used. The ordinary performance can only withstand the temperature of 80 degrees, and the maximum working temperature can reach 200 degrees.
Ferrite: low price, relatively weak magnetism, and excellent temperature and corrosion resistance, so it is generally not electroplated.
Samarium-cobalt(SmCo): The material is expensive, has reliable coercive force and good temperature characteristics, but it is often replaced by NdFeB magnets. Compared with NdFeB magnets, SmCo is more suitable for working in high-temperature environments.
Alnico magnet: Alnico permanent magnet materials have low mechanical strength, high hardness, brittleness, and poor machinability.

2. What is the strongest magnet material?

The strongest magnetic force is NdFeB material. So it is the one with strong suction.

3. Magnet material in the stator
The magnet materials in the stator mainly include NdFeB, ferrite and samarium cobalt, such as NdFeB tile-shaped magnets and ferrite magnet tiles.

4. Motor magnet material
There are also many magnet materials used in the motor. This depends on the specific use of the customer. There are also rubber magnets, most of which are mainly permanent magnets, such as bonded NdFeB, injection molded ferrite, injection molded NdFeB, iron Oxygen multi-pole magnetic rings, NdFeB magnetic tiles, ferrite magnetic tiles, etc.

5. What is the general material of the magnet?
Looking at the application of customers' products, the first version in the magnet application market is that ferrite and NdFeB are used in large quantities. For example, there are generally many ferrites on audio speakers, and NdFeB is also useful. There are many ferrite Y30 or Y30BH tile magnets on the motor, and there are also NdFeB magnet tiles with a temperature resistance of 120-180°.

6. Which powerful magnet material is not fragile?
There is no strong magnet that is not fragile. The magnet is powder metallurgy, which can only be compared to a certain magnet material. The characteristic of the magnet is that the stronger the magnetic force, the more brittle, and the easier it is to break, like NdFeB, whether it is sintered or bonded. Craftsmanship is easy to break, and it is basically easy to drop corners or break when dropped on the ground.

7. Are there any non-fragile magnets?
There are also, such as rubber magnets, injection magnets are not so easy to break, rubber magnets are divided into homosexual and heterosexual, and usually the magnetic force is not too strong.
