A SmCo ring magnet is a type of rare-earth magnet made from samarium (Sm) and cobalt (Co), commonly known as Samarium Cobalt magnets. These magnets are typically used in applications where high magnetic performance must be maintained at elevated temperatures, and where stable magnetic properties are required across a broad operating temperature range.
Samarium Cobalt Ring Magnets are disc or cylindrical magnets with a central hole. Samarium cobalt is a widely used second-generation high-performance rare earth permanent magnet material, known for its high magnetic energy product and coercive force.
We offer a wide range of custom samarium cobalt magnets upon request and can help optimize performance and cost in grades ranging from 16 to 33 MGOe, for use in temperatures up to 350°C (662°F).
Standard size range: Outer diameter (D) = 1.5-130mm, inner diameter = 0.4-80mm, height (H) = 0.3-120mm.
Maximum ring size: Outer diameter 130mm, inner diameter 80mm, height 60mm; outer diameter 80mm, inner diameter 50mm, height 120mm.
Minimum ring size: Outer diameter 1.5mm, inner diameter 0.4mm, height 0.3mm.
Note: For ring magnets, it is difficult to achieve a large outer diameter with an extremely thin wall thickness, as this may result in breakage due to the brittleness of SmCo during assembly.
