The production of AlNiCo rod magnets involves the following steps:

For AlNiCo, each grade has its own μrec value and thus possesses different effective length factor k. AlNiCo magnet is susceptible to demagnetization due to lower coercivity and larger μrec, then a higher L/D ratio can improve operating point on the B-H curve, and this is the reason why AlNiCo magnet is generally long in length.
