Application Introduction of Sintered Ferrite

Ferrite permanent magnet materials are categorized into two main types: sintered and injection-molded (bonded). Sintered ferrites are further divided into dry pressing and wet pressing processes. These classifications pertain to ferrite hard magnets. Of course, ferrite materials also include soft magnets, but those will not be discussed here. Today, the focus is on hard magnetic sintered (ceramic) ferrite magnets.

The most common use of sintered ferrite magnets that might come to mind is in speakers. Indeed, this type of magnet is widely used in audio equipment. For many, their first experience with strong magnets might have been in audio speakers, earphones, or related devices.

Common Applications of Sintered Ferrite Magnets:
